Customer review and rating on Nokia E7

After spending several weeks with the Nokia E7, there is absolutely no doubt that the years one of the sexiest pieces of equipment that we played with in recent months. Maybe not the greatest communicator of Espoo never given us, but that comes is and offers the most balanced of the features of any Symbian device to date. This makes Nokia’s flagship smartphone and Symbian facto ambassador for the foreseeable future. Symbian fans probably undisturbed by the agent $ 679 retail price for the E7 (unlocked and unsubsidized) and seriously consider picking up (or his brother N8), but for the rest of us miss the target E7. While providing an excellent range, good multitasking and some unique features that will satisfy advanced users, Symbian is a disaster, with a user experience slow and frustrating, and archaic cosmetically.

We can not recommend E7, especially in light of what Google and Apple ecosystem has to offer. Dear Nokia, please give us an E7 with a larger display pixel density, a camera with autofocus, a current generation processor, and a delicious serving of Windows phone. Oh, and do so quickly – the sharks are starting to smell blood.

Review by Thomas J (FL, USA)
Rating 5/5
I write this review from the perspective of someone who has had an epiphany with the Nokia E71 (long ago) and blows a little further away (at least initially) more and more with the E72.

Essentially, the jump from a country that does not touch ~ 2 “screen really beautiful 4″ AMOLED touch screen (and the freedom that allows Symbian wonderful to finally go) is a little less than life changing, and therefore, if again jump into the touchscreen arena for the first time, you can expect the same – if not more – as I am now burned. For those of you who have played with touch screens for ages now, but I do not agree (and so far, the iPhone and various users of Android, too) that the size of the brightness of the screen and is certainly at or near the top.

One last thing before I cover select some details: I have heard that Nokia joint venture in the past in the touch screen on the market does not work very fast and flowy IOS moves (eg, N97, X6). This was a great concern, because I just can not imagine anything worse than being connected to a physical button at the bottom of the screen, which has shocked and froze as I poked around the UI Symbian. However, as difficult to find independent dealers who was one of the latest models available for Nokia’s touch-screen demo, I made a very prudent step out, bought the E7, and was very pleasantly surprised! It ‘s easy, and even if a miracle of real beauty of the screen, sensitivity, sensitivity, and class (yes, it is a luxury) to continue, so that you can think about how Nokia E7 also perhaps one of the best keyboards mobile ever made! This is a huge …

Now that time is short and sweet, just to name a few ups and downs:

- The fact that Nokia has managed to squeeze into the keypad and display, a mobile hardware device (as usual) is correct, and indeed some of the best Nokia ever put together (which is saying something, believe me), and whose factor form is a new, slim and attractive than the concept of mobile phone, which comes after six months in advance, only unknown today, a little ‘trivial Mobile Marketplace. Plus, the whole brick like the style of “communication” seemed to be out, but now Nokia has given more than enough new and better life for E7 also incredibly unique. Tired of having to invent new tricks and applications (Swype .. what is that?) Is the type of touch-screen virtual keyboard … and, unfortunately, face a steep learning curve (which is often not the top)? Well, why can not I just pop up on my screen this strange angle of 30 degrees nice and kind of a real keyboard! How refreshing …

- As always, this mobile phone tend to appear, you could use a little more power. And, like any wireless phone, would not complain if it was just a little kick here too. It’s fast, but you will notice the slightest bit of lag when you install new programs (and of course, software updates and other things, as mentioned by another reviewer here). I have to admit – is used for Symbian – which became a patient and understanding when my phone seemed to freeze for a second or two in the introduction of new software for them, but this is not the end of the world.

- As the official boat jump Nokia (or “”….) platform for Microsoft’s mobile operating system would be (reasonably) assume that Symbian essentially dead in the water. This idea crossed my mind for a second, but I put it behind me. First, I think Nokia has done a great job with Symbian ^ 3, and considering that I came aboard a month after the launch E7, has been a handful of software updates seriously, and I was almost zero all the problems with the operating system to date (with only a small problem installing some updates of maps and research Ovi Symbian is downloaded, but still not install … nothing more than a resumption of ‘t fix .. . which tends to be an easy and simple for most things when the phone could not acts of Symbian s).

Therefore, I have a good feeling that this switch to Microsoft WP7 is not really a problem at all (taking into account the following Nokia in the Symbian world), at least not as much as probably bring the OviStore (also debatable). ** UPDATE: Symbian “Ana” E7 will be available very soon (April ’11) **

- Also on Symbian: for those of you who know us, I think Symbian E7 ^ 3 to be fun, although I probably used to the ins and outs (but I’m certainly not a pro) I still have to do a little Internet search tips and tricks usually hidden, and some basic how-to. Those familiar with Symbian know what I mean. Symbian is not even out things, so everything is clear as day (while taking adaptation and unique to the block). There is no room for all your phone settings, for example. So if you can not find how to change something, do not give up. It is part of the fun, and once you understand it, it will slow down all the senses and a beautiful card from a world known as Symbian ^ 3 will slowly form into a coherent, simple, straight forward and really logical OS.

I still find a lot of E7, and I’m still doing double takes a distinctive elegance, sophistication, and true art, as it is on the table and is slightly tilted, thin, bright face looked at me in a sleek keyboard and body worthy of the prize. If you have not leap into the world of Nokia, this is the top of the top and a hard place to dive for those of you who have something at the level of E72 and below (mostly away from N8, C7, C6, and maybe) This is definitely a reason to upgrade.

I will be back with a tip!
